Hello, I'm Sarah!

- my inspiration -

I am a natural light photographer working in Devon. I love the quote ‘do whatever makes your heart smile’ and, quite simply, this is what inspires me. We moved to Devon from Italy, nine years ago looking for a new adventure. With five kids, a rabbit called Inca and the very newest member of the family, Orla the bouncy Sprollie, life is one big adventure!

Story-telling, heartfelt and natural are three words that have been used to describe my style of photography; words I am proud to live by. Inspiration is all around me: the magical beauty of Dartmoor, the babbling streams and rivers, the fairy forests … I feel very lucky to be able to live and work in this beautiful place doing something I love.

My journey began at university with a manual film camera and a darkroom (some would say in the dark ages!) and I still have the very first photo I ever printed – an old man sitting amongst the chaos and colour of Covent Garden, completely lost in his own world. I treasure it.

I am still on that meandering journey and have been photographing families and children for over fifteen years.

Winner of ‘Book of the Year 2015’ with my book ‘Photo a Day’ – a personal project photographing my children each day in February.

Awarded the Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society.

Published in Mother & Baby, Devon Life and Manor magazines.
